Did everyone who visited Thorpe Camp last weekend manage to'swim back' OK? Sat was not too bad weatherwise (the forecasters got it wrong) but Sun afternoon was a litte wet, to say the least. It did stay dry for the Sunday Service and wreath laying ceremony which for us is always an important part of any re-enactment weekend. It was an enjoyable time despite the weather.

Hi Miriam & Eric

We did get there about 10.30ish and the Sunday service was halfway through so you did not like rushing in with the video camera. When we finally got settled down the rain appeared making it very hard to get much filming done. We were about to go back to the car for a bit of snack and coffee to be told that the Lancaster was about to come over. About 20 minutes later and starving it arrived and went in seconds so missed filming it. Never mind the chap said it will be back in a few minutes, another 20 minutes later and still waiting. Had to go to the car for refreshments and then the rain did come down. It was while in the car that another plane went over looked like an Halifax but no film again, guess it was not our day for film or photographs after saying that ambrose managed to get some. Check the site later.
Got to go still working.

People say ”don't look back“ look forward.
I look forward to being part of the future 1940's events.
